Signs of pregnancy

There are usually few symptoms during the first few weeks of pregnancy. Menstrual periods usually come about every four weeks. If you have a missed period or have a period with an abnormally small amount of blood, this may be an indication that you are pregnant. The symptoms and general physical condition will vary from person to person.

Some may feel changes in their body, while others notice nothing unusual this early in the pregnancy. In week five, many will experience signs of pregnancy. Here are a few typical signs (you don’t need to have them all):

  • The need to urinate more often
  • Tender, swollen and enlarged breasts
  • Lower back pain
  • Mild or strong pressure in the lower abdomen
  • Fatigue
  • Nausea
