Progestogen pill

Progestogen-only pills contain only the hormone progestogen. It therefore has no potentially serious adverse effects, such as blood clots or strokes. The hormone is absorbed through the digestive system into the bloodstream, where it prevents ovulation. Some refer to progestogen-only pills as mini-pills, but only one type, Conludag, is actually a mini-pill.

Bleeding when using progestogen-only pills
Many who use progestogen-only pills will eventually experience no bleeding at all. Some retain their bleeding pattern, while others will experience irregular bleeding. The bleeding may be a nuisance, but it is not dangerous.
